Pablo Ruiz - American Soldier Fatality in Afghanistan

Pablo Ruiz
Sgt. 1st Class Pablo A. Ruiz, age 37, of Melbourne, Florida, died on May 24, 2015, in Bagram, Afghanistan.

He was assigned to Group Support Battalion, 3rd Special Forces Group, Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

Sgt. Ruiz died from a non-combat related incident. The cause of his death is under investigation.

Pablo enlisted in the Army in 2003 and worked as a cook. Later he was assigned to the 3rd Special Forces Group as a non-commissioned officer in charge of the forward dining facility at Bagram.

He had served three tours of duty in Iraq.

Pablo had volunteered as a mentor with the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS). This is a national organization that assists the grieving families of fallen soldiers. His fellow volunteers there are greatly saddened to hear of Pablo's death. He had been a great asset to the organization.

In 2007 while on deployment a close friend of Pablo's was hit by enemy fire. Pablo

was the first to reach him, pull him out of the position, administer first aid, and put him on the medevac helicopter.

Pablo's military comrades are in mourning over the death of their brother. He was well respected by his peers. He will be forever remembered.

Pablo's loved ones are devastated over his sudden and tragic death. He did his best. He will be forever mourned.

Pablo is survived by many loving comrades, friends and family members including his wife and daughter.

Thank you for your service to your country, Pablo.

Pray for all who die suddenly. They are with us one moment and are gone before we can say goodbye.

Pray for all who die in a foreign land, far from their loved ones.

Pray that Pablo is in Heaven. Pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
