Annie Baldock and Madison Cornwell - killed by an alleged drunk driver in San Diego, California

Annie Li Baldock, age 24, of La Jolla, and Madison Elizabeth Cornwell, age 23, of Mission Viejo, died on May 16, 2015, on a highway in San Diego, California.

Annie Baldock (L); Madison Cornwell (R)
It was about 1:30 a.m. when the two young women and three male passengers were driving on the highway and were struck head-on by a truck coming at them in the wrong direction.

Tragically Annie and Madison died at the scene. The other three passengers suffered injuries.

Jason King, age 21, has been arrested and charged with two counts of vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated and other related charges.  He was seriously injured in the collision.  He is an active duty Marine based at Marine Air Station Miramar, California.

The California Highway Patrol had received reports from other drivers that Jason King's truck was travelling the wrong way on the highway.

Annie and Madison were both students at the University of California - San Diego - School of Medicine, as were the three male passengers.

Medical school officials describe Annie and Madison as very special young women who would have done wonderful things in the world. Annie Baldock was an incredible bright shinning star who had just finished the first two years of her PHD.

Madison Cornwell had just finished her second year and was about to venture to Malawi to study nutritional needs for children in Africa. Officials at Madison's high school stated that she was a giving woman with a huge amount of potential. She was bright, capable, and a good athlete.
Angels of God, pray for Annie and for
Madison and for those who have
lost them.

Jason King is innocent unless proven guilty.

However we offer this advice to all drivers: If you find that you are wasted, drunk or doped up on street drugs or prescription drugs or if you are falling asleep on your feet, do NOT drive. Call a family member or a friend for a ride; or take a taxi or a bus; or stay where you are until you sober up; or crawl home on your hands and knees. It will be better for you and for the world if you do.

Regret can last a lifetime.

The loved ones of Annie and Madison are devastated over their needless and tragic deaths. Oceans of tears will be shed for these women. They will be forever mourned.

Annie and Madison are survived by many loving friends, fellow students and family members.

Pray for justice for Annie and Madison.

Pray for all who die by misadventure. They are with us one moment and are gone before we can say goodbye.

God save us from the drunk and the doped up drivers. They are killing us, Father.

Pray that Annie is in heaven. Pray that she is at peace and is with God. Amen.

Pray that Madison is in heaven. Pray that she is at peace and is with God. Amen.
