Jose and his wife were working at their grocery store. At about 3:00 p.m., two armed men entered the store and demanded money. Jose gave them some money from the cash register but they shot him anyway.
The two men fled the scene on foot and entered a yellow or green 4-door vehicle. The vehicle could be a Ford Focus. A third man was waiting in the car for the suspects.
Jose was rushed to a nearby hospital where tragically he passed away from his injuries.
One robber was a black male in his 30's, standing approximately 5-foot, 9-inches tall. His face was partially covered by a mask. The second suspect is a white or Hispanic male, also in his 30's. He stands approximately 5'6" to 5'8" tall. He had long hair but did not wear a mask.
Anyone with information about this crime is urged to call Bridgeport Police Detective Ada Curet at 203-581-5236.
Gabriel, Archangel, who stands in the presence of God, pray for Jose and for those who have lost him |
We put this question to the thieves who killed Jose: What does it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses his own soul?
Residents in the area describe Jose as a kind and generous man. He always had a smile on his face. He helped out many people when they were broke or homeless, giving them food.
Jose's loved ones are devastated over his tragic and needless death. Their hearts are broken. He will be forever mourned.
Jose is survived by many loving friends and family members including his wife.
