Terence Avery Green - Law Enforcement Fatality - Georgia

Police Officer Terence Green died in the line of duty on March 4, 2015, at a hospital in Atlanta, Georgia.

Officer Green was a member of the Fulton County Police Department. He had 22 years of service.

Fulton County is the principal county of the Atlanta metropolitan area.

At about 1:00 a.m., Officer Green and other officers responded to reports of shots fired inside a house in Fairburn, a suburb of Atlanta. The inhabitant of the house was known to Police.  He was not located inside the house and officers searched the neighborhood. 

During the search, the suspect opened fire on officers from a concealed position in the dark.  Officer Green was struck in the head.  The suspect was wounded and taken

into custody. 

Officer Green was rushed to a local hospital where tragically he succumbed to his injuries.

Amanuel Menghesa was arrested in connection with this shooting.

The Fulton County Police Department is in mourning over the death of their brother. He was a dedicated and capable officer. He will be forever remembered.

Terence's loved ones are devastated over his sudden and tragic death.  He did his best. He will be forever mourned.

Terence is survived by many loving comrades, friends and family members including his parents and his four sons.
