Jeffrey Scott Buck - a Firefighter fatality in Pennsylvania

Jeff Buck
Firefighter Jeffrey Scott Buck, age 18, died in the line of duty on March 9, 2015, at a hospital in Altoona, Pennsylvania.

Firefighter Buck was a member of the Lawrence Township Volunteer Fire Company No. 1 based in Clearfield, Pennsylvania.

On March 3, 2015, Jeff and other firefighters had responded to a residential structural fire in Clearfield. It is believed that a portion of a roof collapsed on Jeff, seriously injuring his head.

He was rushed to a hospital in Altoona, where tragically he passed away from his injuries 6 days later.

Jeff was a senior at Clearfield Area High School.

Many of Jeff's supporters rallied around him and his family in the days before he passed away. In Philipsburg, a Boots for Buck drive on Saturday netted more than $9,000. Rescue Hose and Ladder in Curwensville pulled in more than $3,500 with a breakfast buffet. A GoFundMe page set up for him raised $4,415.

The Lawrence Township Volunteer Fire Company is in mourning over the death of their young brother.  Jeff is described as a great kid who loved being a firefighter. He loved his family. He was kind and helpful to others. He will be forever remembered.
Florian, Patron Saint of
Firefighters, pray for Jeff
and for those who have
lost him.

Jeff's loved ones are devastated over his tragic death at such a young age.  He was a good kid who did his best. He will be forever mourned.

Jeff is survived by many loving comrades, friends and family members.

Thank you for your service, Jeff.

Pray for all who die young.  They barely had a chance to live.

Pray that Jeff is in heaven. Pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
