Good Samaritan in Vancouver saves woman being attacked

A woman in the Strathcona neighbourhood of Vancouver, British Columbia, was being attacked on March 26, 2015.

Shortly after noon, a neighbour was walking by and heard screaming. The woman's front door was ajar.  He entered the woman's apartment where he found a man attacking her.

The neighbour fought with the attacker who fled the house.  The neighbour and another nearby resident pursued the attacker and pinned him down until the police arrived.

The name of the Good Samaritan who came to the woman's aid cannot be released because a judge has imposed a ban on naming the victim or witnesses to the crime.

The woman had been tied up and attacked with a knife.  She was bloody from head to foot.  It has been reported that one of her fingers had been cut off during the attack.

Friends of the victim stated that she is a strong woman and will eventually be alright.  She is grateful to the man who came to her aid.

She did not know the attacker.  It appears to have been a totally random act of

God bless the unnamed Good Samaritan who came to the aid of the victim.

God bless all others who helped her.
