Richard Farias - a Good Samaritan in San Antonio, Texas

Richard Farias
Late in the evening of February 5, 2015, Richard Farias and his wife were driving by a house in a residential area on the South Side of San Antonio, Texas, when they saw smoke coming from the house.

Richard ran to front door and banged on it. Someone inside banged back.

Richard kicked in the door and helped a disabled man in his 50's out to safety.

The disabled man's mother, age 77, was still in the house.  Richard ran inside and had to back out because of the smoke.  He was able to crawl inside on his hands and knees and located the woman. He and a neighbor helped the woman out to safety.

The mother and her son both suffered from smoke inhalation.  Paramedics took them to a local hospital for treatment.

Firefighters were able to extinguish the flames quickly. The fire is believed to have been caused by an electrical problem in the line running from the backyard to the house.

God bless Richard Farias.  He is a Good Samaritan.

God knows that we need more men and women on this Earth who come to the aid of strangers.
