Robert Blajszczak - Law Enforcement - South Carolina

Patrolman Robert Blajszczak, age 40, died in the line of duty on October 26, 2014, at a hospital in South Carolina.

Robert was a member of the Summerville Police Department. He had 7 years of service with the Department. He was assigned to the Traffic Division.

On October 20, 2014, Robert was conducting a traffic stop on Main Street, Summerville. He began to experience difficulty and a passing officer radioed for assistance. Robert was transported to a local hospital where sadly he passed away six days later.

Robert had previously served with the Berkeley County Sheriff's Office, Moncks Corner Police Department and Edisto Beach Police Department. 

His nicknames to many of his friends and comrades were "Lumpy" and "Blaze".

Friends describe him as popular, friendly, honest and helpful.  He had a great sense of humor and loved to joke. He will be greatly missed.

The Summerville Police Department is in mourning over the death of their brother. He will be forever remembered.

Robert's loved ones are devastated over his death. He will be forever mourned.

Robert is survived by many loving comrades, friends and family members including four children.
