Anthony Haase - Law Enforcement - New Mexico

Officer Anthony Haase, age 24, died in the line of duty on October 26, 2014, on a highway near Rio Rancho, New Mexico.

Anthony was a member of the Rio Rancho Police Department. He had worked for the Department for one year and was sworn in as an officer only five months ago. 

Officer Haase was responding to a domestic violence call at 3:00 a.m.  A man was beating up a woman and threatening other family members with a gun. 

As Anthony proceeded to the call, his patrol car left the roadway and crashed into a ditch fatally injuring him.  The cause of the crash is under investigation. 

Anthony had graduated from Rio Rancho High School where he was into Baseball. 

He attended Cochise College in Arizona. He then played baseball in the minor leagues in Texas and Arizona. He is described as good kid, level-headed and well-liked by his peers.

He was hired by the Rio Rancho Police in October of 2013. 

The Rio Rancho Police Department is in mourning over the death of their young brother.  Anthony is described as a quiet, energetic and hardworking officer. He will be forever remembered. 

Anthony's loved ones are devastated over his tragic death. He will be forever mourned.

Anthony is survived by many loving comrades, friends and family members including his wife, Nichole.
