Serena Vermeersch - a teen murdered in Surrey, British Columbia

Serena Vermeersch
Serena Vermeersch, age 17, died on September 15 or 16, 2014, in Surrey, B.C.

Serena was last seen on September 15 around 8:00 p.m. She was observed getting on a bus, heading home. She didn't return home by the next morning and her mother reported her missing. It was out of character for this girl to not phone home.

Serena's body was found at 7:00 p.m. on September 16, 2014, near some railway tracks in the Newton area of Surrey, B.C.

Surrey is a member municipality of Metro Vancouver. It has a population of about 395,000.

Police believe at this time that this was a random crime and that Serena was not targeted by her attacker.

A man was seen leaving the railway tracks near where Serena was found. He left in a silver or grey Dodge full sized three quarter ton pickup truck with a canopy and a roof rack.

If you know anything about this crime, you are urged to contact the Surrey RCMP at

Pray for justice for Serena.

God save us from the Lost Ones who stalk the Earth, stealing away life. They are killing us, Father.

Pray that Serena is in heaven. Pray that she is at peace and is with God. Amen.
