Christopher Mulalley - U.S. Military

Sgt. Christopher W. Mulalley, 26, of Eureka, California, died on August 22, 2014, in Gardez, Afghanistan, as the result of a non-combat related incident.

The incident is under investigation.

He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 3rd Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas.

Chris graduated from Eureka High School in 2006.  

Chris enlisted in July of 2006 as an infantryman.  He joined the 3rd Cavalry Regiment (known as the Brave Rifles) in July of 2013. 

This was his third deployment to a combat zone.  He had previously served in Iraq from March 2007 to December of 2007.  Then in Afghanistan from May of 2009 to June of 2010.  His current deployment to Afghanistan commenced in June of 2014.

Christopher's family members are devastated by his sudden and tragic death. He will be forever mourned.

Chris is survived by many loving comrades, friends and relatives including his wife and his two young sons.

Thank you for serving, Chris.

Pray for all who die by misadventure.  They are with us one moment and are gone before we can say goodbye. 

Pray without ceasing unto God for an end to this war in Afghanistan. It is enough. We are sick with grief for men like Chris. He wouldn't have died there, if there was no war there.

Pray that Chris is in heaven. Pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
