Justin Helton
Justin Helton, age 25, of Ohio, died on June 9, 2014, in Zabul Province, Afghanistan.

Afghan and international forces had carried out a joint operation against Taliban fighters on June 9, 2014. At the end of the day, the forces returned to their base, where at about 9 p.m. they came under fire from Taliban rockets. Airstrikes against the Taliban were undertaken which mistakenly hit U.S. and Afghan troops, killing Justin and four other U.S. soldiers, one Afghan interpreter and one Afghan soldier.

Justin was based in Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

Justin graduated in 2007 from Eastern High School in Beaver, Ohio

Justin joined the Army in 2010. He was an explosives technician.

This tour of duty to Afghanistan was his first overseas deployment. Justin expected to

Justin loved the outdoors and hunting.

Family members describe him as a good kid, full of life and with an outgoing personality.

Justin's friends have wept oceans of tears for him. He will be forever missed.

Justin's family members are devastated by his sudden and tragic death. He will be forever mourned.

Justin is survived by many loving comrades, friends and relatives including his parents and his
fiancée.

Thank you for serving, Justin.

Pray without ceasing unto God for an end to this war in Afghanistan. It is enough. We are sick with grief for men like Justin.

Pray that Justin is in heaven. Pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
