Mark Braswell |
Mark was a member of the Houston Fire Department. He worked out of Station 6 in the Heights area. He also worked as an assistant chief for the Cypress-Fair Volunteer Fire Department. He has 20 years of service.
Mark was off duty on May 16 and went for an afternoon bicycle ride in northwest Harris County. At about 3:30 p.m., he collided with a parked landscape trailer. The trailer was parked legally. The reason for the collision is unknown and may never be known. It was a tragic accident.
The Houston Fire Department is in mourning over the death of their brother. Fire Department officials stated that Mark was one of the good ones who made a positive difference in the community. He loved being a firefighter. He did his job and did it well. He will be forever missed.

Firefighting comrades stated that Mark was their friend and their mentor. He was fun to be around. He was a go-getter.
Mark's family are devastated by his sudden and tragic death. He will be forever mourned.
Friends describe Mark as a devoted family man and a respected firefighter and leader.
Mark is survived by many loving comrades, friends and relatives including his wife, Michelle, who is also a firefighter; and two children.

Pray for all who die by misadventure. They are with us one moment and gone the next.
Pray that Mark is in heaven. Pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
