Vincent Zellefrow Jr. - Hit and Run victim in California

Vincent Edward Zellefrow Jr., age 20, died on February 12, 2014, on a highway near Carlsbad, California.

Vincent
He and a 19 year old male were skateboarding on the highway before 11 p.m., when Vincent was struck by a vehicle whose driver sped away.  He had attempted to get out of the way of the oncoming vehicle.

Vincent was treated by emergency personnel but sadly passed away at the scene of the collision.

The second skateboarder was not injured.

Vincent was known as Vinnie to his friends and family.

A 17 year old female driver has been arrested in connection with this tragic accident.  She may be charged with vehicular manslaughter, driving while impaired from drugs or alcohol and with felony hit and run.

Vinnie's parents said their son loved to play the drums and had dreams of one day
Angels of God, pray for Vincent
being a music teacher.

His family describe him as a good son and a good friend to others.  He was passionate about music. He is also described as funny, sweet and popular.

He had only recently gotten into skateboarding.

Vinnie was a 2012 graduate of Carlsbad High School and was attending MiraCosta College, working toward transferring to Berkeley, with aspirations to become a music teacher.

Vincent is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his mother and father.

Pray for all who die by misadventure.  They are with us one moment and gone the next.

God save us from the drunk and doped up drivers. They are killing us, Father.

God save us from the speeding drivers.  They strike us down and then run away like wolves.

Pray that Vincent is in heaven. Pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.

I don't even know how one copes with this type of loss. A beautiful young soul with so much potential, positivity, greatness, family, friends and love has had his life taken away!! I don't understand. I don't understand how this 17 year old irresponsible girl, juvenile delinquent can simply get a slap on the wrist!! She should never have been out late and definitely out late & drunk driving and killing. You CANNOT undo this. Seriously as heartbreaking a loss as can be had. How can she deny what she did to this wonderful young man?? She denied the charges!!! Now her father wants her home, so he can keep an eye on her NOW! Excuse me but I think it's dreadfully too late for that. Get a clue! Are you serious, you let her run a muck and now people who will never be the same without Vinnie will carry the pain forever!!

A child could be a victim of their parents bad parenting skills. The parents should be will held blood guilty for letting a minor on the loose with a car and no supervisor. But the child has to go to jail and her youth is down the drain for her parents laziness. How is that fair? They will be held accountable To a higher source eventually.

Shyann is one of my best friends and I know what she did wasn't right but she is one of the sweetest, loving, and funniest person I have ever met. We grew up together and believe me SHE DOES HAVE REGARD FOR LIFE! So try not to make assumptions about someone when you don't even know them. Yes its tragic a life was lost, and I feel terrible for the family. Both Vincent and Shyann's families will be changed forever. Teenagers don't make the best decisions and one mistake made by a 17 year old doesn't make her a horrible person.

She has no regard for life. If she did she would have never drank and drove and snapchatted pictures to everyone of her drinking while driving and of her snorting coke. She will get what she deserves and she deserves nothing but the worst, this will haunt her for the rest of her life.
If running someone over and not having the decency to at least stop and see if he's okay doesnt make her the SHITTIEST person, then i dont know what does.

I cannot believe that someone
can say that Shyann Burgos is one of the "sweetest, loving and funniest persons they have ever met." Are you locked in a room by yourself all day and home schooled?? Get real, give yourself a reality slap please or allow me!!!
A "sweet, loving person" does not hit and run someone. A "sweet, loving person" does not drink underage and get some idiot at Vons to buy alcohol illegally!!!
A "sweet, loving person" does not act selfishly and feel entitled to just go on with their partying while someone is dying!!!
Shame on you! A young man is gone, now he was a sweet, loving and giving person. He was someone who this world needed to make it better!! Get a clue, stop defending her horrific actions!! If she HAD regard for people and their lives she would not have put herself in this situation. Yes this does make her a horrible person, this was completely avoidable!!
