Reymon Tolentino - U.S. Military

Pvt. Reymon B. Tolentino, age 28, died in the line of duty, on February 6, 2014, at a hospital in Tacoma, Washington.  

He was assigned to the 22nd Engineer Clearance Company, 14th Eng. Battalion, 555th Eng. Brigade, 7th Infantry Division at Joint Base Lewis-McChord.

Reymon's assignment was to help pick up members of his unit who had arrived at the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport after their deployment in Afghanistan and deliver them to Joint Base Lewis-McChord.  

Reymon and 9 other soldiers were in a 24 seat shuttle bus which was being driven by a 66 year old civilian driver.

At about 4:30 p.m., the driver lost control of the vehicle which struck a concrete barrier and a light pole and then struck another concrete barrier.  The bus did not have seat belts for the passengers.

was pronounced deceased.  Three other soldiers sustained non fatal injuries. 

Reymon was originally from Illinois.  He completed his basic training at Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri. 

He entered active duty as a combat engineer in January of 2013.

During his brief military service, he received the Army Achievement Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Global War on Terror Service Medal and the Army Service Ribbon.

Reymon is survived by many loving comrades, friends and family members who will forever miss him.

Pray for all who die by misadventure.  They are with us one moment and gone the next.

Pray that Reymon is in heaven. Pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
