Christopher Landis - U.S. Military

Spc. Christopher A. Landis, age 27, of Independence, Kentucky, died on February 10, 2014, at Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan, from wounds received when the enemy attacked his dismounted patrol with a rocket propelled grenade.

He was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 3rd Special Forces Group (Airborne), Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

Christopher enlisted as a cryptologic linguist in March of 2011 and was deployed in August of 2013 as part of Operation Enduring Freedom.

His awards include the Purple Heart, the Army Commendation Medal, the National

his way to Heaven.
Defense Service Medal, the Afghanistan Campaign Medal with Campaign Star, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Army Service Ribbon, the Overseas Service Ribbon, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization Medal, the Combat Action Badge and the Parachutist Badge. 

His loved ones will forever mourn him.

Christopher is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his parents, two brothers and a sister.

Thank you for serving, Chris.

Pray without ceasing unto God for an end to this war in Afghanistan. It is enough. We are sick with grief for men like Christopher.

Pray that Christopher is in heaven. Pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
