Daniel Vasselian - U.S. Military

Daniel and Erin
Sgt. Daniel M. Vasselian, age 27, of Abington, Massachusetts, died in the line of duty on December 23, 2013, while conducting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan.

He was assigned to 1st Battalion, 9th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.

He was ambushed as he was exiting a Humvee.

This was this third tour of duty. He had previously served in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Daniel was born and raised in Abington and graduated from Abington High School in 2004. It was at high school that he met his future wife, Erin. He enlisted in 2006.

Family members stated that Daniel was proud to be a Marine and to serve his country.
Angels of God, pray for Daniel and for those
who have lost him.
He is their hero, who will be forever mourned.

Daniel is also described as a man with a great sense of humor who was the life of any party. He would do anything for anyone. He was a free spirit, and always smiling. He was well loved.

Daniel is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his parents, his sister, Jeannine; and his wife, Erin.

Thank you for serving, Daniel.

Pray without ceasing unto God for an end to this war in Afghanistan. It is enough. We are sick with grief for men like Daniel.

Pray that Daniel is in heaven. Pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
