Randall Lane - U.S. Military

Staff Sergeant Randall Lane, age 43, died of a non-combat related illness on September 13, 2013, at Camp Phoenix in Kabul, Afghanistan.

The nature of his illness has not been released as of this posting.

Randy was a member of the Indiana National Guard and was deployed in January of 2013 as a member of the 1438th Transportation Company, stationed in Franklin, Indiana. He served as a Motor Transport Operator and provided security for convoy operations while in Afghanistan.

Randy was born in Neoga, Illinois. He graduated from Neoga High School in 1988. 

Later in 1988, he enlisted in the Indiana National Guard, where he received specialized

training as a motor transport operator at Fort Lee, Virginia.

He currently lived in Indianapolis.

He will be forever missed by his family and his comrades.

Randy is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his wife and children.

Thank you for serving, Randy. 

Pray for men who die far from home, far from their loved ones. Amen.

Pray that Randy is in heaven. Pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
