Luis Bravo - hit and run victim in New York City

Holy Mother, pray
for Luis
Luis Bravo, age 19, of Jackson Heights, died on September 28, 2013, in the Woodside neighbourhood of Queen's, New York City.

Around 11:00 p.m., Luis was walking eastbound on Broadway, about 10 blocks from his home, when he was hit by a dark colored vehicle which stuck him and fled the scene.

Luis was transported to Elmhurst Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

He and a friend were returning from shopping at a local grocery store.

Those with information should contact NYPD’s Crimestoppers by calling 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or texting 274637 (CRIMES) and entering TIP577.

Luis was working and studying mechanical engineering at New York City College of Technology.  His father was deported to Ecuador ten years ago and his mother has been raising him and his younger sister on her own.

His sister stated that Luis was a hero to her. He helped her with her homework, with basketball, and with everything. She is devastated by his death.

Luis is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his mother, Marta Puruncajas, and his sister.

God save us from the drunk drivers, the doped up drivers and the speeding drivers.

They mow us down and then run away like thieves in the night. Amen.

Pray that Luis is in heaven. Pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
