Timothy Santos Jr. - U.S. Military

1st Lt. Timothy G. Santos Jr., age 29, of Helena, Alabama, died on August 18, 2013, in Fort Bliss, Texas, from a non-combat related illness.

He was assigned to the 4th Battalion, 501st Aviation Regiment, 1st Armored Division, Fort Bliss, Texas.

Timothy was known as TJ to his family and friends.

TJ died of pancreatic cancer. He was diagnosed while on deployment in Kuwait City, Kuwait.

Following his cancer diagnosis, TJ was transported to Johns Hopkins University in

"I am ground like a
grain of wheat", pray for
TJ and for his
loved ones

Baltimore for treatment. He spent the past few months at Johns Hopkins before returning to Fort Bliss recently.

Family members describe TJ as a man of faith and determination.

TJ is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his wife, Karina and his two young daughters.
