Jason Schneider - Law Enforcement - Maryland

Officer Jason Schneider, age 36, died in the line of duty on August 28, 2013, in Catonsville, Maryland.

Jason was a member of the Baltimore County Police Department. He had 13 years of service.

Jason was with a SWAT Team serving a high risk search warrant at a home in Catonsville at about 5:00 a.m. He was part of the tactical team that had entered the house in search of a subject wanted in relation to a shooting. While the team searched room-to-room, the subject opened fire and shot Jason several times.

Despite being mortally wounded, Jason returned fire and critically injured the subject.  Jason and the subject were rushed to a local hospital, where sadly Jason succumbed to his injuries.

Police Department officials describe Jason as extraordinarily experienced and a leader.  The Police Department is in mourning.

Jason is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his wife and two children.
