Sean Mullen - U.S. Military

Warrant Officer Sean W. Mullen, age 39, of Dover, Delaware, died on June 2, 2013, in Lashkar Gah, Afghanistan, of wounds sustained when insurgents attacked his unit with an improvised explosive device.

He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 5th Special Forces Group (Airborne), Fort Campbell, Kentucky.

Sean was born in Allentown and lived in Emmaus during his early childhood years.

Sean enlisted in the military in November of 1995, starting as an infantryman in the Army. He joined the Special Forces in 2007 and worked as a senior medic in such places as Iraq and Saudi Arabia.

He was on his sixth overseas deployment.

Family members describe Sean as a hard-working, dedicated man who cared deeply about his military service. He is also described as modest and unassuming. They are greatly grieving his loss.

His decorations include the Bronze Star, Meritorious Service, Army Commendation,
Light a candle for Sean.
Light his way to Heaven. 
Joint Service Achievement and Army Achievement medals.

Sean is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his mother, Miriam; his father, Bill; and his wife, Nancy.

Thank you for serving, Sean.

Pray without ceasing unto God for an end to this war in Afghanistan. It is enough. We are sick with grief for men like Sean.

Pray that Sean is in heaven. Pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
