Kayla Brown - killed in a hit and run crash in Kentucky

Kayla Brown, age 19, died on May 29, 2013, on a highway outside of Louisville, Kentucky.

Kayla died at about 4:30 p.m. when she and two of her friends were driving on the highway and were clipped by a white sedan, which sped away.

Their vehicle flipped and Kayla was thrown from the vehicle and she succumbed to her injuries. The driver and passenger in the vehicle with Kayla suffered minor injuries but are expected to be alright.

Kayla had attended Louisville Male High School and graduated in 2012. While attending the school she was elected Homecoming Queen and Most Likely to be Famous.

High School officials stated that the faculty and students are grieving the death of Kayla.

Friends describe her as full of life, with a never-ending smile and contagious laugh. She is also described as energetic and enthusiastic.

Her father, who's in the armed forces, has been serving in Afghanistan and was on his way home to surprise his daughter. Instead he came home to a funeral.

Kayla was a 14 year member of Valley View Church in Louisville.

Kayla is survived by many loving friends and relatives including her parents, Bryan and Jessica Brown; her siblings - Bryanna, Maeliga, Jeremiah, Seraya and Isabella;

Pray for justice for Kayla. 

Pray that the driver who clipped the vehicle she was in, is apprehended. He or she may not be entirely guilty for the crash, but do not kill our children and run away. 

Pray for the teenagers who die at 19. They are only kids after all. Amen. 

Pray that Kayla is in heaven. Pray that she is at peace and is with God. Amen.
