Lee Halpin - documentarian died in England

Lee Halpin, age 26, of Heaton, died on or before April 3, 2013, in Newcastle, England.

It is believed that he died of hypothermia. He may have died of hypothermia in connection with drugs.

Lee was working on a documentary about the homeless and sleeping rough on the streets of England. He wanted to immerse himself in this culture and to experience it first-hand. He also wanted this documentary to be his lead-in to a full time job in the TV industry.

Lee's body was found in a boarded up hostel in Newcastle’s tough West End. Temperatures had fallen to minus 4 C overnight. Normally these temperatures would not kill a 26 year old man. Lee may have taken drugs as part of the filming experiment.

Two men, aged 26 and 30, have been arrested on suspicion of having supplied a controlled drug to Lee.

Lee worked at Northumbria Students' Union and co-founded Novel Magazine, which covers arts and culture in the North East.

Angels of God, pray for Lee
what was happening to other people.”

Pray for all who die by misadventure. They are with us one moment and gone the next. Amen.

Let us pray that Lee is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
