Roberto Reyna - soldier found in Alabama River

Staff Sgt. Roberto Reyna, age 35, of San Benito, Texas, died on or before March 17, 2013, in Fort Mitchell, Alabama. 

His body was pulled from the Chattahoochee River near River Bend Park in Fort Mitchell.

River Bend Park is across the river from Georgia's Lawson Army Airfield, which is affiliated with Fort Benning.

The cause of Roberto's death is unknown as of this posting.

Roberto had served on active duty with the U.S. Army and Air Force for 15 years.

He arrived at Fort Benning in October of 2011 and was assigned to the 194th Armored Brigade. His unit trains all initial entry Armor Crewmen and Cavalry Scouts for the Army.

Roberto's decorations include seven Army Commendation Medals, 10 Army Achievement Medals, an Army Meritorious Unit Commendation, five Army Good Conduct Medals, an Air Force Good Conduct Medal, a National Defense Medal, four Iraq Campaign Metals, a Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, a Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, two Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbons, an Army Service Ribbon, five Oversees Service Ribbons, a Combat Action Badge and an Air Assault Badge. 

Roberto is survived by many loving friends and relatives.
