Schools and Bullying....Schools deny responsibility

Numerous cases of bullying are mentioned in the media, almost daily.

Several cases have been mentioned on this blog.  This includes cases of suicide, in which kids as young as 10 or 11 have hung themselves rather than continue on with life.

Almost universally, every time there is a suicide of a pre-teen or a young teen and there is an allegation of bullying by the parents and family of the deceased, the school that the kid was attending comes up with this scenario:

  1. It wasn't our fault - we monitor all abuses and abusers in our schools.
  2. It is not the fault of our students - they are blameless and we know who is abusive and who isn't.
  3. The kid was psychotic or depressed or manic-depressive or had Attention Deficit Disorder.
  4. The kid was abused and unhappy at home, not at school.
  5. The kid was abused by way of social media (Facebook, etc.) and this abuse was from strangers, not from people connected to the school.

Duh?  Are you kidding us?  What a load of horse-shit.

We all know that the world of most 11 to 15 year olds is largely restricted to their neighbourhood and their school. They don't have a world view.  They have a local view.

Are strangers abusing them on Facebook or is it the kids at their school?  How many abusive strangers would these kids know?

What this really means is that schools are dumping responsibility for these deaths on others.  What the schools are not admitting is that they do not take action when kids are abused.

The teachers and Principals and School Board Administrators are tired, overworked, under-paid, and pissed off.  They feel they can only do so much. They can't raise every child.  They can only educate them.

Bullshit... They know full well when a child is weak, vulnerable, out of scope, gay, or has a speech impediment or any other disability or "oddity" that would draw the wrath of their nasty little peers.

These school personnel have to step up and speak up to save these kids. But they most often don't.
Pray for the children
who are tormented.
The Angels weep
for them.

Schools have to impose serious penalties on kids who are bullies and tormentors.  Sometimes nasty little shits have to be smacked down and kicked out if they are abusing others.

Schools have to impose a zero tolerance policy for bullying.

Get on with it.  This bullying was going on in our era, decades ago, and it has not changed, even now.

Jesus, pray for those who are tormented unto death.  Amen.
