He died from wounds sustained on January 14, 2013, in Lashkar Gah, Helmand Province, Afghanistan.
Dave had been shot in the neck. He underwent two emergency medical operations in Afghanistan before being transferred back to England.
He was from Flass Meadows, Barrow.

He was serving in 1st Battalion The Duke of Lancaster’s Regiment. This was his second tour of duty in Afghanistan. He had currently been in Afghanistan since October of 2012.
David is survived by many loving friends and relatives.

Pray for those who die young and tragically in a foreign land. Amen.
Pray for those who linger and suffer. Amen.
