Spc. Arandall Shears, age 20, of West Point, Georgia, died on January 15, 2013, while on duty on a highway north of Lawtey, Florida.

The Army Humvee he was driving crashed and flipped ejecting him from the vehicle. The accident occurred just before 11:30 a.m. He was heading northbound when he tried to change lanes and lost control.

He was flown by helicopter to Shands Hospital at the University of Florida in Gainesville where he passed away.

He had attended Santa Fe College. He joined the Guard in 2011.

Father, place Arandall on the
stairway to Heaven
He was scheduled to deploy to Qatar in February. Friends said that he was looking forward to it.

Friends describe Arandall as a great person who was dedicated to the Guard. He was passionate about the Army, loved to have fun and enjoy his life.

Arandall is survived by many loving friends and relatives.

Pray for those who die by misadventure. They are with us one moment and gone the next.

Thank you for serving, Arandall.

Let us pray that Arandall Shears is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
