Paul Sampleton Jr. - age 14, murdered in Georgia...for his shoes?

Paul Sampleton, age 14, died on December 19, 2012, in Gwinnett County, Georgia.

He was found on the floor of the kitchen of his home. He had been tied and restrained and murdered. He died of a gunshot wound.

Paul had attended morning classes at Grayson High School for a half-day before winter break. He was found by his father at about 2:40 p.m.

Paul played on the freshman football team for most of the season and played baseball, according to his friends. But he had one hobby that made him stand out from others - shoes. He reportedly had about 20 pairs of high end, high priced basketball shoes.

It is reported that Paul Sampleton traded and sold basketball shoes on various websites. Police acknowledge they have seen growing violence around the shoe game in recent weeks and people have actually been targeted for their shoes.

Angels of God, pray for Paul
Friends stated that Paul loved coming to school, smiling and telling jokes, and making people laugh. Paul was popular and well-liked.

He had plans to go to college on a football scholarship.

Paul is survived by many loving friends and relatives, including his mother, Stephanie; and his father Paul Sr.

Pray for those who die young and tragically.

God save us from those who value shoes and money over human life. Amen.

God save us from the Lost Ones who stalk the Earth stealing away life. Amen.

Let us pray that Paul Sampleton Jr. is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
