He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 503rd Infantry Regiment, 173rd Airborne Brigade Combat Team, Caserma Ederle in Vicenza, Italy.
Saint Anthony of Padua,
pray for Daniel

Daniel was an 11-year veteran who had been deployed three times to Iraq and Afghanistan before returning to Fort Benning in Georgia to become a drill instructor. He moved to Italy in 2011 and in July went back to Afghanistan with the 2nd Battalion, 503rd Infantry Regiment, 173rd Airborne Brigade Combat Team for his fourth combat tour.

Daniel is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his father, Tom Metcalfe; his wife Vesna; their three children - Alexis (age 6), Edward (age 3), and Ethan (age 11 months). Daniel is also survived by a 12 year old daughter from a previous relationship.

Let us pray that Daniel Metcalfe is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
