Clinton Ruiz

Sgt. Clinton K. Ruiz, age 22, of Murrieta, California, died on October 25, 2012, of wounds sustained when his unit came under small arms fire in Khas Uruzgan, Oruzgan Province, Afghanistan.

He was assigned to the 9th Military Information Support Battalion (Airborne), 8th Military Information Support Group (Airborne), Fort Bragg, North Carolina. 

Clinton graduated from Murrieta Valley High School in 2008. He enlisted in the Army in May 2009 as a psychological operations Specialist.

Clinton Ruiz completed basic training at Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri, in August of 2009, and the Basic Airborne School at Fort Benning, Georgia, in October of 2009. He later attended the Psychological Operations Advanced Individual Training and Korean Language School at Ft. Bragg, where he graduated in August of 2010.

He was deployed to Afghanistan in September of 2012. 

During his tour of service, Clinton was awarded the Bronze Star, the Purple Heart, the National Defense Service Medal, the Afghan Campaign Star, the Global War on Terrorism Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, the Army Service Ribbon and the Parachutist Badge.

Clinton is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his wife, Kira Ortega and his one year old son, Caleb.

Pray for the 22 year olds who die in combat. Yesterday, they were just boys. Amen. 

Let us pray that Clinton Ruiz is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
