Kyle Osborn

Sgt. Kyle B. Osborn, age 26, of Lafayette, Indiana, died on September 13, 2012, in Muqer, Afghanistan, of wounds sustained when insurgents attacked his unit with small arms and rocket propelled grenade fire.

He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 503rd Infantry Regiment, 173rd Airborne Brigade Combat Team, Camp Ederle, Vicenza, Italy. 

Kyle graduated from McCutcheon High School in 2005 where he was a member of the football and wrestling teams. He was nicknamed "Ozzy" by his buddies. He joined the U.S. Army soon after graduation.

High School officials describe him as enthusiastic, intelligent and outspoken. He is also described as fun to be around.

Friends stated that he loved his parents and was well loved by them. 

Family members describe him as a warrior and a born leader and their hero, who died doing what he wanted to do. 

Kyle was six weeks into his first deployment. 

Kyle is survived by many loving friends and relatives, including his mother and father. 

Let us pray that Kyle Osborn is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
