Gregory Trent

Master Sgt. Gregory R. Trent, age 38, of Norton, Massachusetts, died on August 8, 2012, in Bethesda, Maryland, from wounds suffered on July 31, 2012, in Baktabad, Afghanistan, when enemy forces attacked his unit with small-arms fire. 

Greg was assigned to the 4th Battalion, 3rd Special Forces Group (Airborne), Fort Bragg, North Carolina. 

He was a graduate of Norton High School and Fisher College in North Attleboro. 

He enlisted in the Army as an artilleryman in August 1998. He served as a Howitzer section chief in Italy. He was then deployed to both Iraq and Afghanistan. His latest tour to Afghanistan commenced in January of 2012.

His many awards and decorations include the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart. 

Greg is survived by many loving friends and family members including his parents and a brother; his wife and daughter. 

Let us pray that Gregory Trent is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
