Eric Holman

Staff Sgt. Eric S. Holman, age 39, of Evans City, Pennsylvania, died on August 15, 2012, in Ghazni province, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when he encountered an enemy improvised explosive device.

Eric was assigned to 192nd Ordnance Battalion, 52nd Ordnance Group, 20th Support Command, Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

He was a 1990 graduate of Avonworth High School. He graduated from Penn State in 1995 with a degree in criminal justice. He joined the military 9 years ago.

Family members describe Eric as motivated, meticulous and strong-willed. He loved the military and wanted to make it his career. They also said he was close to his family. 

His current deployment to Afghanistan began in January of 2012. He was scheduled to come home in September of 2012.

Eric is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his mother Carol; his father, David; his brother, Kevin; his sister, Lisa; his 7 year old son Misha; and his stepmother, Jan. He was separated from his wife, Terri. 

Let us pray that Eric Holman is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
