William Mast Jr. - Law Enforcement - North Carolina

Deputy Sheriff William Mast Jr., age 23, died in the line of duty, on July 26, 2012, in Deep Gap, North Carolina. 

William was a member of the Watauga County Sheriff's Office, in North Carolina. He had over 3 years of service. 

William responded to a 911 call at a house trailer in Deep Gap, at 1:00 a.m. Upon arriving at the scene he began walking towards the house when he was shot in the face. It is believed the subject who shot him intentionally ambushed him. Another deputy with him returned fire killing the suspect.

Police Department officials said that they devastated by the loss of this young officer and that they are deeply mourning for him and for his family. 

Friends describe William as a man of integrity who took his police responsibilities seriously. 

William is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his parents; and his expectant wife, Paige. 

Pray for all who die in the line of duty. 

Pray for all who die young and tragically. 

Let us pray that William Mast Jr. is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen
