Sean Jacobs

1st Lt. Sean R. Jacobs, age 23, of Redding, California, died on July 26, 2012, in Khakrez, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when he encountered an enemy improvised explosive device.

He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 17th Field Artillery Regiment, 2nd Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington.

Sean was born in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. The family moved to Redding in 2001. Sean graduated from Foothill High School in 2006. He ran track and cross-country in high school.

He graduated from West Point with a bachelor's degree in May of 2010. Sean deployed to Afghanistan on April 1, 2012. 

Family members describe him as an all-American boy and a winner. 

Sean is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his parents Jacquelyn and Robert Jacobs; and grandfather, Peter Jacobs.

Let us pray that Sean Jacobs is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen
