Daniel Price

Gunnery Sgt. Daniel J. Price, age 27, of Holland, Michigan, died on July 29, 2012, during combat in Badghis province, Afghanistan.

He was assigned to the 1st Marine Special Operations Battalion, Camp Pendleton, California. 

Daniel joined the Marines in July of 2003. While at Camp Pendleton, he was screened to become a reconnaissance Marine. He served three tours of duty in Iraq and three in Afghanistan.

Family members stated that Daniel loved the military, was humble and was a man of faith. He is also described as very driven and committed to the Marines. He had recently re-enlisted for 4 years. 

He was awarded a Bronze Star with combat V for a 2009 incident, the Purple Heart, three Combat Action Ribbons and three Good Conduct Medals.  He was also injured in 2011, when a ricocheted bullet hit his kneecap. He spent more than six months in recovery.

Daniel is survived by many loving friends and relatives, including his mother and father, Ruth and Karl Price; his brother and sister; and his wife, Rachel Price.

Let us pray that Daniel Price is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen
