Stephen Chase Prasnicki

1st Lt. Stephen Chase Prasnicki, age 24, of Lexington, Virginia, died on June 27, 2012, in Maidan Shahr, Wardak Province, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when enemy forces attacked his vehicle with an improvised explosive device.

He was assigned to 4th Battalion, 319th Airborne Field Artillery Regiment, 173rd Airborne Brigade Combat Team, Warner Barracks, Bamberg, Germany.

Chase attended Rockbridge County High School where he excelled at football. He also played football at West Point and graduated from there in 2010.

He had only been in Afghanistan for 3 days before he was killed. He had volunteered for a patrol which struck an explosive device. 

Friends describe Chase as disciplined, a leader and as the ultimate team player.

Chase is survived by many loving friends and relatives, including his father, David; mother, Debbie; sister, Lauren; brother, Tyler; and his wife, Emily Nichols. 

Let us pray that Chase Prasnicki is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
