One of the subjects involved in the fight opened fire with a handgun, striking Officer Hollis in the head. She was transported to a local hospital where she succumbed to her wounds.
Michael, Archangel, Patron
Saint of the Police, pray for
Celena and for her daughter
who has lost her mother.

One subject was taken into custody at the scene and held on suspicion of first degree murder.

Celena had been the president of the Denver Black Police Officers Organization.

Police Officials stated that "There was a tragic event last night and a beautiful young, single mother and a valuable member of the Denver Police Department lost her life." Others describe Celena as a dedicated Police Officer.
