Alex Guy

British Corporal Alex Guy, age 37, from St. Neots, England, died on June 15, 2012, in the Nad-e Ali district of Helmand Province, Afghanistan, of wounds sustained from enemy fire. 

Alex was a member of the 1st Battalion The Royal Anglian Regiment.

He left school in 1991 and eventually decided to join the Army in 1992. He had previously served tours of duty in Bosnia, Iraq, Northern Ireland and Afghanistan. In 2000 he was selected for training as a specialist in the Anti-Tank Platoon and was promoted to corporal in 2003.

He later worked as an Army recruiter before returning to the Battalion in 2010 to begin preparations for deployment to Afghanistan.
Angels of God, pray for Alex

Military officials describe Alex as a loyal, committed and a thoroughly decent man. They also describe him as honest, welcoming, committed, loyal and brave. 

Family members describe Alex as happy, full of life and a kind hearted man. He had a passion for his work and for his family. He is also described as a loving son, husband, brother, friend and comrade. 

Alex is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his mother and father, Aileen and Andrew; his sisters Rebecca and Martha; and his wife, Emma. 

Let us pray that Alex Guy is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
