Scott Pruitt

Master Sgt. Scott E. Pruitt, age 38, of Gautier, Mississippi., died on April 28, 2012, while conducting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan. 

He was assigned to I Marine Expeditionary Force Headquarters Group, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, California. His specialty was financial management resource analyst. His duty title was comptroller chief with First Marine Expeditionary Force Headquarters Group.

Scott Pruitt graduated from Pascagoula High School in 1992. He joined the Marine Corps in June of 1993. He graduated from the American Military University in 2010 with a BA in Criminal Justice. He became a master sergeant in 2010.

He received several awards, including three commendation medals and five good conduct medals. 

Family members describe Scott as a great human being, an amazing brother, son, and father. He is also described as a good person who was dependable, trustworthy and hard-working.

Friends describe him as a great guy and a good friend who would do anything for you. 

Scott is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his brother, Paul; his daughters - Jennifer (age 9) and Jordyn (age 4); and his fiancee, Tricia Anderson-Lane. 

Let us pray that Scott Pruitt is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
