Eric Warren

Hospitalman Eric D. Warren, age 23, of Shawnee, Oklahoma, died on May 26, 2012, of wounds received in action due to an improvised explosive device blast in Sangin District, Helmand Province, Afghanistan.

He was assigned to 1st Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment, Regimental Combat Team 6, 1st Marine Division (Forward), I Marine Expeditionary Force (Forward), Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.

Eric was a graduate of McLoud High School in 2008 where he was active in wrestling and drama. He joined the military soon after graduation. He was serving his third tour of duty in Afghanistan. 

He was known as "Doc" to his military comrades. 

Friends stated that Eric was greatly respected by his military comrades and that he performed his duties with honor, dignity and pride. 

Friends and family members describe him as caring, supportive of his friends and always smiling. 

Eric is survived by many loving friends and relatives, including his parents, Donna and adoptive Dad Marvin Warren Jr., his birth father, William Burris and his wife Patti; his sister, Paris; and brothers Chance Houston and Torn Burris. 

Let us pray that Eric Warren is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
