Michael Palacio

Cpl. Michael J. Palacio, age 23, of Lake Elsinore, California, died on March 29, 2012, while conducting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan.

He was assigned to Headquarters Battalion, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force, Okinawa, Japan. Michael was a military policeman.

Michael joined the Marines on November 28, 2007. He arrived on Okinawa, November 11, 2010, and deployed to Afghanistan on November 12, 2011.

He was known as "Mikey" to his comrades.

Pray for Michael
Military officials stated that Michael was a quiet professional, dedicated to the mission and the Marines he served beside. He was not afraid to take care of his fellow Marines, always giving a helping hand and expecting nothing in return. Mikey will always be remembered as a great Marine, true family man, friend, and relentless warrior.

It was also stated that he had a huge smile and a good attitude.

His service awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, and the NATO-International Security Assistance Force Medal.

Michael is survived by many loving friends and relatives.

Let us pray to God the Father, Jesus, all of the saints and all of the angels that Michael J. Palacio is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
