David Taylor

Spc. David W. Taylor, age 20, of Dixon, Kentucky, died on March 29, 2012, in Kandahar province, Afghanistan.

David was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

David was helping to move ammunition at a supply point when rounds exploded, fatally injuring him. 

David attended Webster County High School.  He joined the Army March 24, 2010 as an Infantryman. He attended One-Station Unit Training and Airborne School at Fort Benning. He joined 2-508th PIR on October 20, 2010. He is a graduate of the Warrior Leaders Course. This was his first deployment.

Military officials describe David as smart, aggressive, committed and reliable. He is also described as an irreplaceable Paratrooper and friend to his comrades. 

Friends describe him as having a great sense of humor, popular and a born leader. It was stated that he always wanted to be a soldier. 

David is survived by many loving friends and family members including his mother, Sarah Whitledge-Taylor; and his sister, Tamara. David was predeceased by his father, Kevin Taylor. 

Let us pray to God the Father, Jesus, all of the saints and all of the angels that David Taylor is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen
