Osbrany Montes De Oca

Lance Cpl. Osbrany Montes De Oca, age 20, of North Arlington, New Jersey, died on February 10, 2012, while conducting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan. 

As he was walking out of his base, he was shot by Taliban forces.

He was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.

Osbrany was born in the Dominican Republic.  A little more than a year ago, he and his twin brother both joined the Marine Corps after graduating high school, telling family members that they wanted to serve their country and fight those who would harm it.  

Family members stated that Osbrany loved being a part of the military. 

Osbrany is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his mother, Miriam; twin brother, Osmany;  brother Sandro Moreta, and a younger brother still in high school; and Osbrany's girlfriend, who he described as the love of his life. 

Let us pray to God the Father, Jesus, all of the saints and all of the angels that Osbrany Montes De Oca is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen
