Matt Waller - Firefighter - Texas

Firefighter Matt Waller, age 47, died while on duty on February 25, 2012, in Amarillo, Texas.

He was a member of the Memphis Fire Department, Texas. He had 29 years of service. Matt passed away from a stroke, while at the Fire Station. 

He was a 1982 graduate of Memphis High School. He also graduated from the Fire Academy at Amarillo College. Matt worked for the Memphis Fire Department for 29 years and was the fire marshal for the city of Memphis the last 15 years. He enjoyed helping with the Memphis Little League, Pee Wee Football and Memphis Relay for Life.

Matt was a member and deacon at First Baptist Church. He taught the youth Sunday school class, managed the sound system on Sundays, and was involved in First Baptist mission work in El Paso.

Matt is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his parents, Charles and Violet Waller; sister Shelly Beam; his son, Cameron Waller and his wife, Dana Waller.

Pray for all who die in the line of duty. 

Let us pray to God the Father, Jesus, all of the saints and all of the angels that Matt Waller is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen
