Justin Wilkens

1st Lt. Justin J. Wilkens, age 26, of Bend, Oregon, died on February 18, 2012, when his U-28 aircraft was involved in an accident near Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti, Africa. 

He was assigned to the 34th Special Operations Squadron, Hurlburt Field, Florida.

Justin was a combat systems officer on his third deployment. He entered the Air Force in 2009, receiving his commission through the Air Force Academy. He had been assigned to the 34th SOS at Hurlburt Field since April 2011 and had more than 400 combat hours. 

Justin was home-schooled in Bend, Oregon.  

Friends describe Justin as a fine young man who was respectful and well-liked. He is also described as extremely outgoing and friendly, inquisitive, talented and brave.  Others have said that he was strong minded, strong bodied and could fix almost anything in a pinch. 
Jesus, pray for Justin

Justin is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his parents, Jim and Sharon Wilkens, both sets of grand-parents, sisters Brittany and Cameron; and brother, Jason. 

Let us pray to God the Father, Jesus, all of the saints and all of the angels that Justin Wilkens is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen
