Francesco Currò, Francesco Messineo, Luca Valente

Three Italian soldiers died on February 20, 2012, in the Shindand District of Herat Province, Afghanistan. 

They were with a convey involved in an operation to rescue another unit which had become blocked in bad weather. As their vehicle crossed a body of water it overturned, trapping the soldiers inside, killing them.

These men are:

Left - Francesco Currò; Middle - Francesco Messineo;  Right - Luca Valente

Chief Corporal Francesco Currò, age 31, from Messina

First Corporal Francesco Messineo, age 29, from Palermo

First Corporal Luca Valente, age 28, from Gagliano de Capo (Lecce)

Pray for their loved ones who have lost a son, a husband, a father, a brother. 

Pray for all Italian soldiers who die in the service of Italy.  

Let us pray to God the Father, Jesus, all of the saints and all of the angels that Francesco Currò, Francesco Messineo and Luca Valente are in heaven. Let us pray that they are at peace and are with God. Amen
