Christiaan Bush

Pfc. Christiaan Bush, age 22, of Hagerstown, Maryland, died on February 5, 2012, near Fort Stewart, Georgia.

Christiaan was a member of the Third Infantry Division stationed at Fort Stewart, Georgia.

He was traveling on a local highway when a car traveling south attempted to pass another car and pickup truck, colliding instead with Christiaan's motorcycle. The motorcycle slid under the truck and both vehicles then caught on fire. He was wearing full protective gear and was licensed to operate the motorcycle. The accident is still under investigation by the Fort’s military police.

Jesus, pray for Christiaan
Christiaan was a 2007 graduate of Smithsburg High School. He then attended Universal Technical Institute in Exton, Pennsylvania, to study auto mechanics. When he finished his training, he enlisted in the Army in January of 2011 at Fort Knox, Kentucky and graduated from boot camp in April of 2011. He was then stationed at Fort Stewart, where he was a tank crewman.

Family members stated that he always wanted to belong to the Military and to contribute to his country. They also describe him as being level-headed, having a big heart and always being concerned about his family.

Friends describe him as always happy.

Christiaan is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his mother, Amy Werner; grandmother, Grace Bush; and fiancée, Meagan Bromley.

Let us pray to God the Father, Jesus, all of the saints and all of the angels that Christiaan Bush is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen
