Jared Francom - Law Enforcement - Utah

Agent Jared Francom, age 30, died on January 5, 2012, in a Utah hospital.

Jared was a member of the Ogden Police Department, in Utah. He had 7 years of service.

He was shot on January 4, 2012, while serving a drug-related search warrant at an Ogden residence. As members of a police task force approached the home the suspect opened fire on them. After firing at the officers, the suspect fled to a shed near the home and barricaded himself inside. He was shot and wounded by other responding officers before being taken into custody.
Light a candle for Jared.
Light his way to Heaven.

Five other officers were wounded during the incident.

Family members stated that Jared always wanted to be a police officer. They describe him as a great father, husband, brother, son and friend who will be greatly missed.

Jared Francom is the oldest of four boys. He also has an older sister. He was born in Ogden and lived there for six years before his family moved to California. The Francoms later moved to Las Vegas where Jared graduated from high school. He returned to Utah about seven years ago.

Jared is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his wife, Erin; and two daughters, ages 5 and 3.

Pray for all who die in the line of duty.

Let us pray to God the Father, Jesus, all of the saints and all of the angels that Jared Francom is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen
